Y’know, I had completely lost track of what day of the week it was and totally forgot to upload this last night. My bad.

I had to look up facts about Friends as I was writing this. I kind of wonder if anybody made the connection between the whole “friend” thing in the story and the name “Chandler”.

We just got out of a tornado watch in my town… nothing too serious here, but some other towns were hit pretty hard. lol for me the only major effect was that all the bird crap on the sidewalk outside my apartment got washed off…

Finally getting art posted on here on time. When was the last time that happened? I’m having fun with the design of this otherworld… it’s interesting how this story has changed as I’ve created it. When I first conceived of this story it was much simpler, with the ceremony just occurring in a large basement. But as time went on I had more and more ideas and different thoughts on how to implement them. Some changes were spur of the moment as I drew the comic, but for the most part I struggle with new ideas, rolling them over in my head, thinking of all the different directions they could go and whether or not they would make the story more interesting. It’s an interesting process, and one that you can really only do with a weekly comic like this. If I was producing pages more frequently I would have to maintain a tighter schedule, and that means getting work going at set times without a lot of freedom to fool around with ideas.

The gear shift in my car has a little button on it  that you have to press in order to shift gears… or so I thought. It turns out that just pushing the gear shift all on its own is enough… the little button doesn’t do anything. I don’t even know if I would call it a placebo because it’s not like it makes me feel safer or anything… it’s just kinda there.

Finally getting this page up.

Recently I rented Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for the 3DS. The game was pretty fun… I liked the way the puzzles played out in the game. Clever enough to make me feel smart for having figured them out, but not so obtuse that I felt like the game was needlessly hard. Though eventually I got to a point where I just… quit. What it came down to was the boss of the third mansion, which is basically the middle of the game. The problem was that the actual boss-fight was just a gauntlet thing where Luigi has to fight his way through a small army of ghosts. It’s not generally too hard, but it’s all timed so that, no matter how good you are, the whole thing still takes about half an hour. I was screwing up quite a bit at the end and died, sending me back to the start of the mission and well… I just didn’t want to deal with it again. I’ve got shit I could be doing for half an hour, and this was probably the most tedious part of the game. Like I said… it’s just a gauntlet of enemies, and while the combat, such as it is, in Luigi’s mansion isn’t bad, it’s not really the part of the game that I enjoy.

Oh wow I missed the whole month of March… sorry, but work has just been hectic lately. I’ve been put on a really weird schedule and basically getting no rest, so I just didn’t have the energy to really work on the comic in addition to my usual paying work; not to mention that I also had to get a new computer. That said things are calming down a bit now and I should be back to normal soon, and I’ve even got a fresh computer. I decided to test out some of its processing power by trying out Star Wars: The Old Republic. So far I’ve been having fun playing as a bounty hunter, but I’ve only been at it for a couple of days so I’m not sure how much I’ll really get into the game. I’ve really been more into gaming on my 3DS lately, since it’s something I can do in short bursts while waiting for things. It’s rare for me to get a lot of free time all at once lately

Moooooore comic!

Sorry about missing my update last week. It was Valentine’s day and I was doing all kinds of stuff for the wife.  It was fun, definitely, but didn’t leave me much time for comic stuff. Don’t really have an excuse why this comic is being posted so late in the day, though…

As for me, I had to use my tax return to do some much needed repairs on my car. It’s crazy the price difference you can get between different shops… personally though I prefer just to go to the shop that’s closest to my house, since I can just walk home and dick around on the internet while they work on it, instead of just sitting in the waiting room.

I’ve never been very good at sound effects. Not that I can’t produce them, but I’m never sure what they should be. To be honest I usually find them distracting. Like for this page I feel like a big “thoom” or “fwoosh” sound effect would be good for that huge wave of ectoplasm… but what the Hell sound does a demon swallowing all of that sound like? And wouldn’t it be weird to have sound effects in the first two panels and not the last one?
